Itinerary

Your adventure begins in Brașov, one of Transylvania’s most charming medieval cities. After settling in, we gather for a welcome meeting where you will meet your fellow travelers and get an introduction to the journey ahead.
In true Romanian fashion, we mark the occasion with a toast of pălincă and vișinată, traditional fruit brandies known for their strong yet smooth taste. A warm and relaxed evening sets the tone for the unforgettable days to come.

The day begins with a guided walking tour through Brașov’s historic center. Stroll through centuries-old streets, admire the imposing Black Church, and uncover the stories behind the city’s medieval walls, towers, and lively squares.
In the evening, we step into a local kitchen for an immersive Romanian cooking experience. Under the guidance of a skilled host, we learn to prepare sarmale, the beloved Romanian stuffed cabbage rolls, and sample authentic delicacies like zacusca, șorici, and slănină. A meal shared, stories exchanged—this is Romanian hospitality at its best.

Leaving the city behind, we venture into the Carpathian wilderness to visit the Libearty Bear Sanctuary. This inspiring rescue center provides a safe haven for bears that were once kept in captivity, allowing them to live freely in their natural habitat.
Our journey continues to Bran Castle, one of Romania’s most famous landmarks. As we walk through its medieval corridors and learn the true history behind the Dracula legend, we discover that Bran’s real story is just as fascinating as the myth.
By evening, we arrive at Kalnoky Guesthouse, a beautifully restored Saxon estate where tradition is preserved with great care. A candlelit dinner of Transylvanian specialties rounds off the day in an elegant yet cozy setting.

This morning, we leave the castle behind and journey to Viscri, a village where time seems to have stood still. Known for its well-preserved Saxon heritage, Viscri offers a glimpse into a way of life that has remained unchanged for generations.
We visit the fortified church, one of Transylvania’s most remarkable medieval structures, before meeting a local blacksmith, who continues to practice his craft as it was done centuries ago. The rhythm of the hammer against the anvil, the glow of the forge—it is an authentic encounter with a nearly forgotten trade.

Today, we travel to Corund, a village renowned for its traditional pottery. Here, we meet artisans who shape and paint ceramics by hand, using techniques passed down through generations. With guidance, we try our hand at the craft, experiencing firsthand the patience and precision it requires.
Following a home-cooked lunch, we continue to Sighișoara, one of the best-preserved medieval citadels in Europe and the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler. As we walk through its winding streets, past vibrant houses and the iconic clock tower, we step back into a time when knights and merchants roamed these very alleys.

Today, we take a break from sightseeing and retreat into the tranquility of Cund, a remote Saxon village where life moves at a gentler pace. At Valea Verde, a countryside retreat, we immerse ourselves in the peaceful surroundings, with time to relax, reflect, and simply enjoy the beauty of rural Transylvania.

Our journey continues as we visit Biertan, home to one of Transylvania’s most striking fortified churches. A masterpiece of Saxon engineering, Biertan’s grand wooden doors and medieval locking system tell stories of a time when these structures protected entire villages.
Arriving in Sibiu, we step into the country’s largest open-air ethnographic museum—the Astra Museum. Here, we explore traditional houses, watermills, and wooden churches that showcase Romania’s rich rural heritage. As the evening sets in, we wander through Sibiu’s charming old town, where historic squares and iconic “eye-like” rooftops create a truly unique atmosphere.

An early start takes us on one of the world’s most spectacular roads—the Transfăgărășan Highway. Winding through the Făgăraș Mountains, this legendary route offers dramatic views of waterfalls, glacial lakes, and jagged peaks.
As we descend on the Argeș side, we keep watch for wild bears, often spotted along the roadside. By evening, we arrive at the Transylvania Amphitheater, a secluded retreat where the rolling hills and peaceful surroundings create the perfect setting to end an extraordinary day.

Our final full day brings us to Peleș Castle, Romania’s most exquisite royal residence. Every room, from the grand entrance hall to the intricately carved library, reflects the elegance of Romania’s former kings.
As we return to Brașov, we gather for one last evening together, reminiscing about the journey we have shared—each village, each meal, each moment that has made this trip so special.

As our time together comes to an end, we say our goodbyes, leaving with not just photos, but a deep appreciation for Transylvania’s landscapes, traditions, and the warm hospitality of its people.
This is not just a visit—it is an experience that lingers long after you leave.
